Application for scholarship and/or reimbursement of language test
This e-form application for scholarship or reimbursement of first YKI language test can be filled in by tuition fee-paying students, who are currently registered as present. Once you have filled in the application, the processing can take up to 4 weeks. The processing time might be even longer, depending on the amount of applications. The processing time in June, July, August and December is longer than 4 weeks.
Bachelor students can be awarded with a scholarship two times during their studies (A2 level and B1 level), based on their level of Finnish language skills and provided that their study progress fulfills 60 ECTS credits per academic year at HAMK.
Example: if you have been enrolled as present for two academic years you would need to have completed at least 120 credits to be eligible for a scholarship. When calculating the credits for scholarship, only the ones passed during the study period at HAMK will be taken into consideration.
Note that transferring students might not be able to fulfill this criteria. The Finnish language skills are evaluated by test results.
Master's degree students can be awarded with one scholarship at the end of their studies, based on their level of Finnish language and provided that their studies progress with 45 ECTS credits per academic year at HAMK. The Finnish language skills are evaluated by language test results.
Example: if you have been enrolled as present for two academic years you would need to have completed at least 90 credits to be eligible for a scholarship. When calculating the credits for scholarship, only the ones passed during the study period at HAMK will be taken into consideration.
Recognition of Prior Learning
When calculating the credits for scholarship, only the ones passed during the study period in HAMK will be taken into consideration. Earlier credits from another institute are not valid and will not be taken into account (for example Recognition of prior learning, RPL).
Personal Identity Code has to be found in your Pakki, under Personal Information: in order to receive a scholarship, HAMK needs to have your Finnish personal identity code. We cannot process applications from students who have not submitted their personal identity code.
