Deferring your studies (delay in the resident permit process)

If your residence permit process has been delayed and you are unable to arrive on campus by your degree program's deadline, you may apply for a deferral of the start of your studies by completing this application form. Notice that deferring your studies will consume your attendance periods.

You must provide a proof of delay in the residence permit process. Attach a screenshot from the Events section in the Enter Finland service. The screenshot must clearly show all listed events.

If the required attachment is missing, your application will be automatically rejected. In this case, you will be considered as a present student and your tuition fees will not be transferred.

By filling out this form, you commit to the fact that the start of your studies and already paid tuition fees will be transferred to the academic year 2027-2028. Please note that tuition fees are non-refundable and you cannot start your studies during the academic year 2026-2027 after your degree program's deadline.

You can defer the start of your studies only once and you need to arrive to campus by the orientation day in August 2027. We will publish the dates during spring 2027 on our website for New Degree Students. These rules apply to all students, and no exceptions will be made.
